Setting up an auction affiliate website
Jun 10th
On the pages of this site are all the stages you need to set up an auction affiliate website. Usually you would have to visit half a dozen sites to find out all this information. Now you are able to get it all here.
Firstly you need to think about a website name. This should be related to the products you are targeting on the auction sites. For example, if you are going to concentrate on weight loss products, you need a site name that people can relate to that- such as weighless.com. On the sidebar of this page there is a facility for you to search for possible domain names. Go to it and try some possible names, it costs you nothing to try.
Secondly, you need to host your website. There are hundreds of hosting companies out there, but one that has a very good reputation and very reasonable costs per month, is Hostgator. I recommend choosing the ‘Baby Croc’ option because you can add loads of future websites (unlimited) for no extra cost. Thats’ right whether you have two or two hundred websites, just one monthly low cost payment!
So you now have a domain name and hosting organised, you now need a platform for your website. This is free. WordPress is recognised world wide as the most reliable and search engine friendly (Google loves wordpress websites!). With wordpress you can choose from thousands of themes – website layouts. These themes are made by web designers in countries throughout the world and offered for free to everyone who wants one. Wonderful!
Once you have your website sorted with a wordpress theme, this is just the start. Optimising your wordpress site to be SEO (Search Engine Optimised) can take a few hours, but this will be described to you on the wordpress page.
This next stage involves filling your website with content and links to affiliate programs. So you will need an ebay account. Naturally following on from this is a paypal account. With these two in place you should join the Ebay Partner Network. This is an affiliate program set up by ebay to pay affiliates when they send new customers to them. In addition, you will also get a small percentage of the listing fee for everyone that buys something on ebay through your site. All these pounds and dollars mount up and each month you should get a payment from EPN.
Listing products on your site for people to click on and buy needs some software. The most popular software for this is PHPBay Pro. There are others but if you go searching in the forums you will see these others have limitations or Google, Yahoo etc. do not like them as much. With PHPBay Pro you have clear easy set up instructions to follow that will have you earning quickly.
Amazon is another very popular auction site. So popular that you cannot afford to ignore it. If you do you are simply leaving money on the table (as they say). Amazon sells everything, not just books! So have a link to their site.
By now you will have a website with a relevant domain name; cheap reliable hosting; products listed from ebay; a paypal account to get paid for sales; Amazon products on display and all on an attractive site that people can find easily and navigate around to find what they are looking for, quickly.
Now visit each of the pages on this site to find out more about the above. Each week more information will be added to these pages, so check back regularly.
