Once you have thought of a Domain Name you then need a Hosting Account so that the world can see your website. Without this Hosting Account you will not be on the World Wide Web! In other words you pay a monthly fee and you can have one website or a hundred websites, all for this low monthly amount.  It is the best arrangement.  You will no doubt want to progress to more than one website sooner or later and this provides that opportunity.
