How Can I Use Article Marketing?
Aug 20th
Article marketing is the writing of articles that are relevant to the subject of the web site that you want to advertise. It works because the author is allowed to append two URL’s to the articles, normally at the bottom, which will allow the reader to click through for further information.
Therefore, if you wanted to advertise a web site on cooking, you might write a series of articles on ways of cooking or using certain kitchen gadgets.
If you post these articles to a general article database, you can assume a pretty low click through rate (CTR), but if you posted it to a cookery blog, you could look forward to a higher CTR.
The good thing is that everyone who clicks through will know what they are prone to see on your site, so they are focused visitors and focused visitors are more prone to turn into customers.
The articles that you submit to webmasters of blogs and article databases usually want to approve them for length and content, but if you are honest, that is hardly ever a problem Another advantage of article marketing is that these webmasters never shunt your article off their web site when new arrive.
They may place them into archives, but the archives are still readable and scannable by Google and this is an important advantage too.
You see, Google ranks web sites on their popularity and one of the techniques it uses to judge popularity is how many links there are on the Internet referring back to it. They are called backlinks. People found this out and tried to work around it (and still do) by exchanging backlinks.
However, Google rates one-way backlinks higher than mutual links. An article on a blog gives you two one-way backlinks until the blog goes under. If you pick where you post judiciously, this might never happen.
Google also looks to see if the host of your link is applicable to your site, so it is worth posting to sites that are pertinent to yours and Google awards extra merit if the site holding your link is an authority site, that is, a top site on that subject.
If you submit an article to an article database and a leading authority site or newsletter on that topic picks it up and prints it, you will get heaps of bonus points from Google, shoot up in the ranking, get loads of visitors and more clients.
The message is to write good, pertinent articles and submit them where they can be found. By this I mean, use the biggest article databases, because that is where the top people go to look for articles if they are stuck and also submit your article to blogs that are relevant to the subject of your article, which should be relevant to the subject of your website, which should be relevant to what you are trying to promote.
I recently had one of my articles picked up. I had 3,450 plus visitors to my web site within two hours and 256 of them became customers. If only it could be achieved every day. The thing is, it can, if you get the approach right. Stay on target.

Avoiding Everyday Affiliate Marketing Errors
Aug 18th
Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning some revenue on the Internet. Affiliate marketing allows everyone the chance to turn a profit through the Internet. Since these affiliate marketing opportunities are simple to enter and implement and pay commission on a regular basis, more an more people are now joining this industry model.
However, like all businesses, there are lots of pitfalls in the affiliate marketing business. Committing some of the most common mistakes will cost the marketer a high portion of the profit they should be making, which is why it is better to avoid them than be sorry later.
Mistake Number 1: Choosing the Wrong Company.
Many people want to earn from affiliate marketing as quickly as they can. In their dash to be part of a scheme, they often pick a popular, flash product. This is the type of product that the company considers ?hot?. They select a product that is in high demand without actually considering if the product appeals to themselves. This is not a very wise move.
As an alternative to just jumping on the bandwagon, try to pick a product that you are truly interested in. For any endeavor to be successful, you should take some time to plan your course of action.
Choose a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if it is in demand. It is not easy to make money marketing something only you care about.
Mistake Number 2: Joining Too Many Affiliate Schemes.
Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join lots oif of affiliate schemes to endeavor to increase the income you will be earning. Indeed, you may think that there is nothing wrong with being part of many affiliate programs.
Certainly, that sounds like a great way to get multiple streams of income. However, joining multiple schemes and attempting to advertise them all at the same time, will preclude you from concentrating on any one of them.
What will happen? The maximum potential of your affiliate scheme will not be not attained and the revenue generated will not precisely be as titanic as you were thinking that they would. The best means to get the best results, is to join just one program that pays a 40% commission at least. Then give it your best effort by promoting the goods enthusiastically. When you see that it is making a reasonable profit, then perhaps you can join another affiliate program.
The technique is to take it slowly but surely. There is in actuality no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing. With the way things are going, the future is looking really bright and it seems affiliate marketing will be around for a long time too.
Mistake Number 3: Not Purchasing the Goods or Using the Service.
As an affiliate, your main goal is to successfully and persuasively market a product or service and to find customers. For you to achieve this purpose, you must be able to communicate to the consumers that that particular product or service is worth obtaining. It is therefore hard for you to do this if you yourself have not tried these things out. Therefore, you will fail to advertise and recommend them convincingly. You will also fail to create a craving in your customers to buy any of what you are offering.
Try the product or service personally before you sign up as an affiliate to check if it is actually delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living witnesses conscious of its advantages and disadvantages. Your customers will then feel the sincerity in you and this will encourage them to try it out for themselves.
Many affiliate marketers make these mistakes and are paying dearly for their actions. Do not fall into the same trap, do everything you can to avoid making the same mistakes.
Time is the key. Take the time to analyze your marketing strategy and check if you are on the right track. If done correctly, you will increase your affiliate marketing scheme profits.

Choosing An Internet Business
Aug 11th
People who are not wealthy, and even some who are, fall into two categories. They either work for themselves or they work for someone else. It is not significant to the world’s inhabitants which method you choose. It is only important to you and your peace of mind. Home businesses have existed for a long time; just think of Avon, Tupperware and Betterware, for example.
These business models entail the worker selling the products and recruiting new members to sell as well. The recruiter gets a percentage of the seller’s takings. These jobs were traditionally the domain of women, who carried out the job while the children were in school or after the children had flown the coop. There is a genuine opportunity for the worker to make good money in these sorts of business, although the fact of the matter is that most people do not make more than a pittance.
The hook, with which to lure individuals into these businesses is often the promise of easy money. It is a very successful lure. It has proven itself to work for decades and it is still working now, on the Internet. All the old quasi-business opportunities and cons have been transferred online so as to hit a bigger audience and new so-called business ‘opportunities’ have been invented as well. This makes it very difficult for new-comers to the Internet to choose an online business, if they want to make money online.
Before you go searching for an Internet business, it is a good idea to look at yourself analytically and come to a decision whether you are the sort of person who can work unsupervised on the Internet. Are you disciplined enough? Do you know enough about anything? You frequently read people bragging that they run their online business in their underwear, but what is so good about that?
So, they are slobs, so what? That is no role model. Working from home suits me because I like to work, when I like to work. I frequently work at night when there is no-one about and my Internet connection is faster. I still work 12-15 hours a day fully clothed – OK, without a shirt when it is hot.
You have to have something to sell. I do not only mean a product. I mean that you have to be able to inject something of yourself into the product too. You have to be enthusiastic about it. You have to know something about it and you have to be able to want to write about it. If you do not believe in whatever you are trying to sell, you will have a well-nigh impossible job persuading others about its qualities also.
Once you have found a product that you have admiration for in an industry that you know something about, look for a respectable company that can supply it. If you can, have it drop-shipped by that company, so that you do not have to carry any stock. Some of these businesses will provide you with a website as a sales page, others will not. It is normally better to have a website, so learn how to make one and upload it. For this you will require hosting too.
Therefore, once you have chosen your product, if not before, you should learn some HTML editing (writing websites) and learn how to upload a website (FTP it). These are not difficult tasks to become skilled at, honestly, even if you know totally nothing about them right now. You will also need a domain name and somewhere to store it. This is the URL or website address of your website and where it is physically stored – on which server and in which country.
While or after you are doing that, you should immerse yourself in knowledge of the product you are going to sell and that sector in general. As you can see, there is a great deal to do in the beginning. A very great deal, and that is one of the main reasons for failure, they are not well prepared and give up.
I personally would not sign up to any company that asks for any kind or registration fee. No matter what fancy excuses they give for the charge. Often they will say that the fee is for registration on their database or for making and hosting your website. This is all rubbish. There are thousands of people who pay for names to go on their database (or list); the website is computer generated (yours is merely one of hundreds) and hosting space and expenses for this would be dollars a year.
Why should you pay to work selling their goods? Run a mile from any company like that. Also ones that offer to pay for your registration if you pay for people who join under you – it is the same old rubbish wrapped up in a different way.
Working online takes continuous work and review and I have only touched on some of the jobs that a budding Internet marketer needs to know and be able to do. Good luck choosing an Internet business.

How Come So Many People Fail At Affiliate Marketing?
Aug 11th
Affiliate marketing is an extremely popular way of trying to make money on the Internet and its popularity is growing every day. This is because it costs nothing but time, after you have a computer and you are online. This makes it very attractive to people who have recently lost their jobs, the young, the stay-at-home parents and the millions of people in the Third World to whom a couple of dollars more means such a lot.
All this rivalry means that the affiliate marketer has to work a great deal harder to make a living and so has to be more selective about the product that he promotes. This in turn provokes the distributor to produce better promotional material and give higher commissions, which all stimulates more people to give Internet affiliate marketing a go.
In Internet affiliate marketing, the promotional material is usually provided by the distributor or manufacturer free of charge, which means that every marketer finishes up employing the same creative displays, advertising content and pictures.
I receive hundreds of emails a day and whenever an Internet guru brings out a new promotion, I get emails from dozens of optimistic people around the world all commencing with something like: ‘Do you know my eminent friend So-an-So, the best Internet marketer in the world? Well, I twisted his arm to allow me to offer you his top secret plans for only $49! Blah, blah, blah’.
These gurus must get tired of having their arms twisted by so many people all the time. These emails go straight in the bin. And so will the majority of yours if you just follow the herd and post out the same old copy that your distributor has given you. You have to be imaginative and I think that you should not tell lies, although many, many do lie on line. ‘…my eminent friend So-and-So …’, what rubbish.
My first two tips to any would-be Internet affiliate marketer are: 1] be creative and as original as you can 2] work hard at it. Too many people send their adverts out by the thousand and sit back and wish for the best. If it was that easy, millions would be trying it, which of course they are, but 98% of those people are failing too.
Unless you are original in your work and unless you work hard at promoting it, you will join the ranks of those millions who wake up to impatiently check their inbox for a sale’s receipt, only to find it full of other hopeful marketers’ spam. And after a couple of months of that, it becomes depressing, trust me. This is why most people fail at Internet affiliate marketing.
Another tip is to only promote something that you comprehend or that fits in with your website. If your web site is on handmade Moroccan leather shoes, but you notice that a marketing guru is offering $50 a sale on his software, do not just stick his advert up on your site and hope for the best, create a new website about it.
Keep your web sites and sales letters focused – it works much better. How many websites have you come across that are plastered with banners and other creatives promoting everything from fishing hooks to model aircraft and holidays in Barbados?
Are they not appalling? Nobody buys anything from these sites. I know, I used to have one. And it was quite popular at 1,500 visitors a week. I did not make enough to buy a pizza a week.
Therefore, tip number three, is to sell what you know about and if you do not know about it, investigate it. Sell what fits into your existing structure or make a new one for it. All this takes more work, so work harder. Now, I am convinced that you are starting to understand why people fail at Internet affiliate marketing.

The Different Types Of Affiliate Marketing
Aug 7th
Marketing items with your affiliate reference embedded in the hyperlink has been about for a decade or more, but it is even more common now than ever before. The principle, in a nut shell for those who do not already know, is that the distributor of the item supplies the marketer with a link to a product and within that link is a unique reference code which identifies the marketer. If your link is pressed and a transaction is completed, then you get paid.
With all the millions of new Interneters coming on line every week, there is bound to be a percentage that is seeking to make some income on the side. And why not?
So, how can you set about making money from affiliate marketing? Well, there are a number of different types of affiliate marketing and it would be wise if you acquaint yourself with them to begin with.
When you have read of the different types of affiliate marketing below, you will be in a better position to work out which one is perfect for you and your web site or style.
Pay Per Click (PPC) is popular with merchants and affiliates alike. This requires a lot of faith on behalf of both parties. The distributor has to believe that the visits are authentic and the marketer has to believe that he will get paid for every click. Google’s Adsense is a good example of PPC.
Pay Per Performance (PPF) is more well-liked by distributors than affiliates, because they do not get rewarded unless a specific action is taken by the visitor. There are essentially two different types of PPF:
Pay Per Sale (PPS), ie the marketer does not get paid unless the merchant sells something and Pay Per Lead (PPL) where you do not get rewarded unless your visitor gives over his email address
These are the most prevalent types of advertising preferred by those paying, because they only pay for what they get, but they are least preferred by marketers because the marketer can end up doing a great deal of work for nothing.
Then there are variations built into these fundamental types of affiliate marketing.
Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing is where you, the marketer, the first affiliate in your line or marketing team can make sales, as above, but if you enlist others to do the same, they will be placed in your ‘downline’ and you will get a percentage of every sale that they make too. This can go many levels deep, but the percentage you earn will reduce also. It is a great inducement to the beginner, but these schemes are usually very difficult to make work.
Recurring Payment Schemes normally entail subscriptions, but they can also correlate to sales concluded by your former customers months or years later. This is no more than fair as you found the client in the first place. In fact, the system depends on cookies.
When your client makes the first purchase a cookie with your ID will be placed on his computer. When he returns, the distributor will look for the cookie to see if the sale should ascribed to anyone. So far so good, but what if the person has erased his cookies, like I do every day?

Creating Your First Internet Business
Aug 4th
Embarking on any new business venture is costly, stressful and arduous. Anyone who has set up a traditional business or an Internet business will realize that there is a lot of work that goes on that the customer does not know about. There was a great deal of work done before the doors opened or the website launched for the first time. Launching your Internet business will take a lot out of you, especially if you want to be up and running quickly.
Here are a few pointers I can give you to get you going:
Create a start-up plan. Write things down and tick them off when you have completed them. A start-up strategy for a new Internet business might look like this:
1] recognize a requirement
2] work out how you can satisfy that need by finding a reliable existing supplier or having the goods made for you
3] create a means of informing your potential clients that you have what they need and create a means for them to purchase it right away (a website and a shopping cart).
4] ascertain your probable customers and tell them how they can resolve their problem
5] work out some practical goals. Delineate where you want to be in three, six, nine, twelve and fifteen months ahead. Keep checking your results against these goals and strive to meet them. If you do not, work out why. If you do, reward yourself and upgrade your goals. Do not be too ambitious.
Select your domain (web site) name very carefully. I recently met someone who had clearly put a great deal of effort into a blog and it looked impressive, but a quick check showed that the name of the blog/website had not been searched for on Google even once in the preceding month. Do not permit that to happen to you.
If you had not thought about the status of the name of your website before you created it, grab the bull by the horns and alter it. Relaunch your web site with the new name. Swallow your pride. You can keep the content.
Build a good-looking website. You can have the web site crafted for you, but you will still need to be able to revise it, so you either have to have a working knowledge of HTML or you have to have a good HTML editor. Personally, I do not want to be a programmer, so I went for the best HTML editor that I could find. I use it every day and I love it.
You will need to host your web site. This is cheap enough, less than a hundred dollars a year, but you have to find a good host. Check how often they are off line and check their other promises too. Check for statistics. Most provide statistics included in the price, but some take it out of the package to sell them individually at a high cost.
Once you have gotten this far, you will need to inform people that your web site exists, because it is a falsehood that it will be found whatever. Millions and millions are spent on search engine optimization and traffic generation and there are hundreds of books you can buy and read on the subject. It is a gigantic and ever-changing technique that requires a study and another article all unto itself
